Education administrators organize and manage the administration, support systems and activities that facilitate the effective running of an educational institution.
Administrators work in areas such as school, building, district based management, admissions, quality assuranceand examinations or in a specialist role such as finance, careers or human resources. All of these can be either centrally based or within faculties, departments or other smaller units.
There are many possible job titles within education administration and job descriptions are equally diverse. For additional information on administrative services and school leaders in general please connect to New York State ASCD or New York's national partner the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.
